	Born Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland ~ studied Fine Art Painting & Printmaking Belfast College of Art 1971 - 1976 Lived in London 1976 - 1992...exhibited, illustrated, yearly Beck Rd Open Studios. Frequently illustrated book covers for: B.B.C. Books, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Fontana, Good Housekeeping, Heinemann Educational, Macdonald Optima, Pan, Piatkus Books, Serpent’s Tail, S.P.C.K., Women’s Press and Zed Books. Moved to Lincolnshire in 1993...exhibited, illustrated, yearly Art on the Map. 1995 - 2001: Company illustrator Aura Soma Products: Tarot Cards, Angel calendar, wrote Goddesses: A Circle of Colour, Astrological, Numerology & I-Ching imagery, a lot of which were used for product labelling. Also worked in general Quark Xpress layout & design. 2004: received an Arts Council England (East Midlands) award to learn stonecarving.

Commissioned by Pogoplum, 2007, to illustrate a set of gay greetings & Xmas cards & in 2009 launched Josephine Cards, a range of handmade greetings cards from her now extensive bank of imagery. Click to view ranges & buy on

Currently painting, photographing... & occasionally works as digital typesetter in Word / Acrobat for TAG-Publishing.

Works are in the public collections of: Arts Council of Northern Ireland; Aura Soma Products Ltd; Belfast Telegraph; Bedfordshire County Council; Somerset County Council; Ulster Television...& in the Private collections of individuals in: Austria, Australia, Britain, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Spain, USA.

Hobbies are swimming, reading, knitting...Phyllis has two sons & a daughter & two stepsons & stepdaughter.
Currently lives in the Lincolnshire Wolds with her husband Robert WIllmington.
